Thailand Formulating Investment Plan For Garment Industry
According to the Thailand World Journal, the industry director, arty, revealed that the office plans to improve the competitiveness of 9 000 small and medium enterprises (SME) operators so that they can compete in the international market and invest in neighboring countries, focusing on increasing their market knowledge and raising product standards. The chamber will lead the SME industry to trade negotiations in ASEAN countries. If SME does not improve product quality and production efficiency, if multinational enterprises enter Thailand, they may not go bankrupt.
According to Artie, there are 282 SME companies in China, which can be divided into 3 groups. The first group is SME which has been able to adjust its business and has competitive power. The second groups are SME who are looking for measures to adjust, and third groups do not think that SME must be adjusted.
The number of the first group reached 900 thousand, and the office set the goal to promote the 10% industry of the group to enter the international market.
Munro, director of the Industrial Development Office of the industry department, said that he was prepared to lead the SME industry to trade negotiations with neighboring countries and promote allies with neighboring enterprises, including Burma, Laos, Kampuchea and Vietnam.
First of all, it will promote the following commodity trade, such as food, textiles, garments, condiments, bedsheets and furniture. The reason is that these commodities are widely welcomed by the neighboring countries and will further promote the cooperation between Thai SME industry and neighboring enterprises.
The cost of labor in neighbouring countries is much lower than that in Thailand, especially in Burma.
The enterprises that are worth investing are condiments; Laos are suitable for furniture and bedding; Vietnam is suitable for investing in electrical appliances, food, shampoo and soap.
