At about 8:00 a.m., more than 300 workers in a garment manufacturing enterprise in Huizhou, Guangdong, walked happily into the factory with the red envelopes they had just received. Due to the large number of orders, many workers returned to their posts in advance after the Spring Festival.

Gong Qing'e, a beading worker in this garment manufacturer, said that their Guochao garment orders increased the most this year, and customers' requirements for the production process were getting higher and higher.

The combination of Chinese style design and high-quality traditional fabrics is a new trend in the industry this year. Foshan, Guangdong Province is the origin of Xiangyun gauze. In a garment manufacturing enterprise in Shunde District, Foshan, sewing machines are booming and workers are busy cutting and sewing Xiangyun gauze into clothes.

Ouyang Yongze, the production director of a garment manufacturer in Foshan, Guangdong, said: "We started a week ahead of schedule.". Since January this year, our orders have increased by about 50% year on year. Now we still have a large shortage of workers.

The reporter learned during the visit that as traditional elements such as buckles, stand collars and embroidery are more integrated into Guochao costumes, workers with manual skills are particularly popular.

In order to deliver orders as soon as possible, Guangdong garment enterprises not only increase the recruitment of skilled workers, but also invest in automated production equipment, and carry out digital transformation of sales, production, procurement and other links to improve production efficiency.

It is understood that in 2024, the scale of China's Guochao apparel market will be more than 220 billion yuan, and it is expected to reach 250 billion yuan in 2025. In addition, according to the latest data of an e-commerce platform, in 2024, the sales of Guochao clothing represented by New Chinese style will increase by 153% year on year. In 2025, the sales volume has increased by more than 200% year on year since January.
