The special exhibition "Splendid Jiangnan - the peak creation of traditional Chinese embroidery" is currently on display in Nanjing Museum. The exhibition presents the seven thousand year history of innovation of Chinese textile technology in the south of the Yangtze River through three units: "weaving, ingenious calculation", "embroidery, brilliant workmanship" and "dyeing, colorful".

Brocade is a kind of fabric structure. It is a valuable textile made with silk as the main textile material and weaving as the textile technology. In ancient China, it was "as valuable as gold". Embroidery is a kind of textile technology, which refers to the use of embroidery thread to thread threads on textiles and other materials to make fabric patterns. "Jinxiu" is often used to refer to beautiful or beautiful things, such as "beautiful mountains and rivers" and "beautiful prospects". It can be seen that embroidery plays an important role in Chinese excellent traditional culture.

Zhang Ru, curator and associate research librarian of the Nanjing Museum, said that in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, there were many peak techniques of weaving, embroidery and dyeing in the south of the Yangtze River. China's silk and cotton textile center, as well as the famous "Jiangnan Three Weaving" are located in Jiangnan. Jiangnan Splendor has become a bulk commodity in China's ancient foreign trade, which has also inspired the invention of today's computer, and is still enabling the people of today's China and the world to live a better life.

The reporter learned that most of the exhibits were exhibited to the public for the first time, from textile tools seven thousand years ago to weaving and embroidery relics mainly collected in Nanjing Museum, as well as representative works of inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, reflecting the tireless efforts of generations of working people to inherit the cultural context of textile technology.

The "Embroidery Female Actress Beike Image" in the exhibition is a simulated figure embroidery created by Shen Shou with the simulation embroidery technique. Zhang Ru introduced that this was Shen Shou's last masterpiece before he died, which took three years to complete. The work uses Suzhou embroidery techniques such as burying needle, trocar needle, spinning needle, virtual and real needle, and combines the light and shadow level simulation embroidery techniques of western paintings absorbed by Shen Shou to embroider the portraits of figures to perfection.

There is a landmark cultural relic in the exhibition, namely, the Tianhua Brocade with red earth Ruyi peony pattern. The patterns of peony, Ruyi, lotus, copper coins and so on are regularly interlaced and overlapped, forming a varied brocade like skeleton, which reflects the cultural characteristics of Chinese civilization, which is both beautiful and harmonious. "The main pattern of brocade is the peony symbolizing wealth, and there are combinations of different styles, such as free form combination, square combination, etc., with lotus and copper coins, to create a rich variety of brocade patterns." Zhang Ru introduced.

In addition, the exhibition also added a "little egg", which will display nearly 40 sets of collections of 15 s, s+level popular TV dramas, such as "The Code of Riverside Scene during the Qingming Festival", "Lotus Tower", "A Dream in Ning'an", in batches. From complicated embroidery to exquisite tailoring, from exquisite accessories to exquisite materials, all of them are original pieces for actors to shoot, and more than 90% of them are on public display for the first time. Among them, the costumes of the static exhibition are distributed in many public spaces in the museum of Nanbo, waiting for the audience to explore and discover during the Spring Festival.
