The Xinjiang Subsidiary Of Yida Group Was Listed In The "Entity List" And Sued The U.S. Government With A Preliminary Victory

On August 4th, Esquel Group, one of the world's largest shirt makers, won a rare victory. Prior to that, Yida group filed a lawsuit with the District Court of the District of Columbia in the United States and sought legal help for the economic and reputation losses caused to the whole group.

According to a joint motion filed by the district court for the District of Columbia on Tuesday, the end user review committee finally voted to remove Changji Yida, a subsidiary of the Hong Kong textile and clothing manufacturer, from the so-called list of entities under certain conditions.

The end user review committee is composed of cross sectoral representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the State Department, the Department of defense, the Department of energy, and, if applicable, the Department of finance. It is responsible for determining whether an entity should be included in the entity list.

"These conditions are currently under further discussion," said the latest motion.

In the motion, the two sides asked the District Court of the District of Columbia to postpone the next hearing of the case to September, while the two sides continued to discuss and the lawsuit was still in progress.
