Ukraine Textile Industry Association And German Institutions Jointly Study And Formulate Textile Export Strategy To EU

Uzbekistan's "Kun" website reported on the 8th that Uzbekistan's textile industry association is working with German International Cooperation Agency (Giz) and relevant enterprises to study and formulate textile export strategy to EU.

Ukraine's textiles are exported to 65 countries every year, with an export value of 2.1 billion US dollars, including 74 million US dollars to EU Member States. On April 10 this year, after the EU officially granted Ukraine super generalized system of preferences (GSP +) treatment, the tariff on Ukraine's related textiles dropped from 17% to zero, which will greatly promote Ukraine's textile export. According to experts' assessment, by the end of this year, Ukraine's textile export volume to the EU will increase to 150 million US dollars, and it is expected to reach 1.2 billion US dollars by 2025. Investors and retailers in the textile sector will have a great increase in their market interest in Ukraine. At that time, Ukrainian textiles will compete with products from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Mongolia and other countries in the EU market. The textile products of the above countries will account for more than 80% of the EU market in the GSP + system.
