US Retail Market Recovered Strongly In January, Up 7.4% Year On Year

The U.S. retail market recovered strongly in January, with a year-on-year increase of 7.4%, the largest increase in seven months, ending the previous three-month downward trend.

Compared with the previous month, all retail categories have achieved different degrees of growth.

Clothing stores increased by 5% month on month, decreased by 11.1% year on year, and recovered to about 90% before the epidemic;

Department stores increased by 23.5% month on month, only 3% lower than the same period last year;

Home furnishing stores still maintain the growth momentum, achieving a large growth rate of 11.7% year-on-year;

Large supermarkets increased by 7.3% year on year;

E-commerce retailing is still booming, with a year-on-year growth of 28.7%, which will be the main force of sales growth this year.
