U.S. Plans To Ban Imports Of Cotton And Tomatoes From Xinjiang

Recently, U.S. Customs and border protection officials are preparing to order a ban on imports of cotton and tomatoes from Xinjiang, citing "forced labor.". In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian pointed out at a regular press conference on the 9th that the US side is not concerned about "human rights" at all, but is suppressing Chinese enterprises, undermining Xinjiang's stability and smearing China's policy of governing Xinjiang under the guise of human rights.

Zhao Lijian said that China has repeatedly used facts and data to show that the Xinjiang related issues are not human rights, ethnic groups and religious issues, but anti violence, terrorism and anti secession issues. Xinjiang affairs are purely China's internal affairs, and the US side has no right or qualification to interfere arbitrarily.

He pointed out that the US side is not concerned about "human rights" at all, but is suppressing Chinese enterprises, undermining Xinjiang's stability and discrediting China's policy of governing Xinjiang under the guise of human rights. In this regard, the 1.4 billion Chinese people, including the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, have already seen through the hypocrisy and sinister intentions of the United States, as well as the international community.

Zhao Lijian said that the US side should immediately stop its misdeeds of interfering in China's internal affairs and damaging China's interests. China will continue to take all necessary measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
