April 13th, according to cnBeta, iPrice and Network Analysis Corporation SimilarWeb show that Shopee and Lazada seem to be expanding their position in the Southeast Asian electricity supplier market.

It is reported that the two e-commerce platforms were invested by Tencent and Alibaba respectively, and are in the top position in the Southeast Asian electricity supplier market. Data show that in the last 3 months of 2019, the two seized 60% of the electricity network traffic in Southeast Asia.

During that time, Shopee and Lazada accounted for 33% and 27% of the electricity network traffic in Southeast Asia respectively, while Tokopedia and Bukalapak ranked three or four, but the two market share seems to be declining. In the 12 months of 2019, the share of Tokopedia traffic dropped from 14% to 11%, while Bukalapak dropped from 14% to 6.5%.

In the third quarter of 2017, Shopee occupied only 7% of the electricity network traffic in Southeast Asia, while Lazada reached 48%. After a series of innovative marketing activities, Shopee has established its own status.

According to relevant media, iPrice Group joined the mobile data platform App Annie and website data platform SimilarWeb jointly released the 2019 annual report of Southeast Asia electricity supplier, which shows that Shopee mobile terminal has won the championship in the three indicators of downloading, monthly activity and user retention rate in 2019, and the web page has topped 2 billion top visits, further stabilizing its position in Southeast Asia.
