In Order To Resist The Product Of Fast Fashion
In order to resist
Fast fashion
Two American artists set up a single product.
Jumpsuits
Fashion
brand
。
Two years ago, Abigail Glaum-Lathbury and Maura Brewer established Jumpsuit.
The brand wants to provide a sexless and versatile pair of trousers to eliminate the racial, social and gender differences in daily life, and the most important thing is to make sustainable fashion.
At present, Jumpsuit only makes black and white colored pants. In order to promote products, the two founders also call themselves Rational Dress Society.
It means the dress revolution of women in Vitoria period - take off your bra and wear comfortably.
In addition, the brand also has some meaningful slogans, such as slogans: "Embrace Rational Dress (to dress sensibly)."
Its official website is much like the typesetting page of a newspaper. The first thing you can notice is not a pair of trousers, but a "speech" and "view" itself.
"We want to ask: what clothes do we want to wear every day?"
In describing how the project started, Glaum-Lathbury said, "the idea of this project has widened. We are thinking about consumption, including how we live in the world."

The fast fashion business model means cheaper labor, and let the fashion industry become the second largest polluting industry after oil industry.
What the two artists think is that if they can't completely change the status quo, at least do something to promote people's thinking -- setting up Jumpsuit to arouse consumers' thoughts.
"We always like the pants.
This fashion can be traced back to the feminist movement, when many women came out of the kitchen wearing this dress and integrated into the working environment.
Of course, artists also like pants.
"Abigail Glaum-Lathbury said," for us, the most important thing is to design more efficient clothes for more people, so that it can adapt to more life scenes and activities.
It seems that Jumpsuit is more like a social pformation project than a profitable business. Its "earnest teachings" probably comes from the founder's college education background.
Glaum-Lathbury is a teaching assistant at the Chicago Academy of art. Maura Brewer is a video artist and a instructor at the art school of American Art Center.
Like education, the social effect that Jumpsuit wants to achieve is not completed in a few days.
Abigail Glaum-Lathbury and Maura Brewer want to persuade more people to wear panties as much as possible.
At present, the price of Jumpsuit's trousers is $149.99, only black and white.
They collected human body measurement system from NASA and the US military, and developed models suitable for 248 types of body.
In this way, the Jumpsuit pants can not only adapt to any body shape, but also need not make too much adjustment because of the sex.
Once you place the order, Jumpsuit will send out research mail, ask consumers about their chest circumference, hip circumference, height, or ask for their special wear requirements, such as whether they are muscular, whether they need low crotch design and so on.
With these basic information, Jumpsuit makes you a pair of pants.
Recently, the two founders have made fourth open workshops for the public, and have done "open source" processing of Jumpsuit's trouser data.
Consumers can learn the production process of the pair of trousers. If you don't want to buy Pants directly from Jumpsuit, you can download their layout and cloth information from the website.
"Because we are artists, we do not want Jumpsuit to be like a profitable business.
We don't want to make money. We just want the society to think about some bottom line.
This allows Jumpsuit to become an interesting economic experiment. "
Abigail Glaum-Lathbury said.
