Amazon Plans To Open Online Clothing Store

Amazon Co, the world's leading Internet sales website, is said to be discussing with some retailers about a partnership to open a clothing store on its website in order to make a profit in the coming holiday season.

According to the New York Times, Amazon plans to open online clothing stores with retailers in the summer and autumn of this year.

Amazon spokesman said clothing is one of Amazon's expanding business.

Amazon said in the first quarter of this year that 26 million 200 thousand users bought at least one product on its website last year. This huge user base makes Amazon very attractive in the eyes of retailers.

Kessar, a senior analyst at Jupiter research, said that even clothing retailers who built their own websites like Nordstrom and Gap also thought that the sale of clothing on Amazon's website was profitable.

The market value of clothing is valued at $200 billion a year, which is 9 times that of the book market. It is also the main reason why Amazon Co is preparing to attack the online clothing market in large quantities.

He said: "Amazon is now moving towards profitable goals, and online sales of clothing are seen as a potential revenue growth point."
