Clothing Sales Resumed In The US

Gregory, Edwards, a county magistrate in the United States, may represent businessmen and residents. On Sunday, April 1, 2012, clothing less than 110 dollars may be duty-free again.


In the past two years, in order to increase revenue in New York, the legislature of the state legislature in 2010 set up a 2010-11 state budget which abolished the sales tax exemption for clothing and shoes less than 110 dollars.

Sales and utilization of tax laws, the New York legislature made a three stage change in the sales tax exemption, and eventually restored the sales tax exemption in New York counties to the previous tax rate.


In the first stage, from October 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011, the excise tax on clothing and footwear was abolished.

This is the New York state budget office raising $330 million for fiscal year 2010-11.


The second stage, from April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012, stipulates the single piece.

Clothing and shoes less than $55 are tax-free.

This is because the State Budget Office expects to raise $2 billion 110 million in revenue in fiscal year 2011-12.


The third stage, starting in April 1, 2012, will restore the original tax exemption for clothing and shoes with a value of less than $110.


At present, New York has all the tax exemption from sales tax.

4% of the state sales tax is used for shoes and shoes, and no county sales tax is charged for any clothing or footwear items.
