As an important part of the 2011 hurdle unit of the Beijing international design week, from the middle of the 8 month to the middle of 10 months, around the two topics of "social design" and "creative recycling and redesign", the architects, artists and geeks from northern Europe and China are gathered together in the old block of dhura old through the open work camp. The NOTCH festival began in 2006. It is a creative cultural exchange between northern Europe and China. It is devoted to the "forward-looking" cross-cultural experiment in the fields of design, architecture, media art and music.

After 2006 to 2010 first five years of practice, 2011 as the starting point for the second five years of NOTCH, it will trace back to the origin of NOTCH, that is, the "critical moment". Through the theme of "FEEDBACK feedback", we will use the past to feed the future and create new life.

2011 NOTCH took place in the commercial and cultural entertainment "key area" fence in Beijing history. The main event is to produce a relay equipment factory containing "feedback coils", which is "double" with the context of NOTCH.

In the hinterland of dhura Historic District, through the "feedback" social design and community practice of Nordic and local designers, the local historical context is inherited, creative recycling is designed, the social life and cultural environment is improved, the latent energy of creativity in dhura area is activated, and a beneficial attempt is made for upgrading, upgrading and format of dhuran area.

The "open camp" is the characteristic of NOTCH this year. It emphasizes on-site production, cross boundary cooperation, material originates from the community, and the results of the work are fed back to the community.

Participants are Nordic and local activists and activists (activist) in the sub culture field of "open source Open Source" and "self-made DIY".

The "open camp" is open to the public and encourages the public to participate.

In the "open camp", the Danish women's graphic design team, Hvass &Hannibal, will use the recycled milk box as pixel City ranch device with the Chinese graphic designer Been. The Iceland artist Gudrun Kristjansdottir will lead the community volunteers to use the Iceland volcanic ash and recycled community daily necessities to make "three dimensional murals" on the external wall of the relay equipment factory. The Danish artists Jacob Sikker Remin and Finland artist Tuomas Laitinen will work together with the Beijing creative space team to complete several interactive installations and interact with the dhuran public space.
