US Consumer Registration For Durable Infant Products Will Take Effect From June.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission of the United States released the consumer registration requirements and final rules for durable infant products under the Consumer Goods Safety Improvement Act 2008 (CPSIA) 104th (d). The final rule requires the manufacturer of every durable infant product: to provide a postage paid consumer registration form for each product, to keep the consumer record of the product registered with the manufacturer, the manufacturer's permanent address and contact information, type name and type, and the date of production of each product. The final rule specifies the text and format of the registration form, and specifies the requirements for registration through the Internet.

The following products will be observed on June 28, 2010: full size cribs and non full size cribs; baby beds; high chairs; children's safety chairs; hook chairs; bath chairs; children's doors and other fences; game fences; fixed activity centres; basket type baby seats; light baby carriages; walkers; swing; cradles and cradles. The following products will be observed on December 29, 2010: Children's folding chairs, adjustable tables, baby rocking chairs, baby bathtubs, bed fences and baby straps.
