Tajik Restricts Imports Of Products Through Legal Bills

The fifth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon meeting of the three session of the Tajikistan Congress passed a legal bill today, which allows the number of imported products to be restricted and domestic products to be supported.

"Measures to effectively protect Tajikistan's own economic interests in foreign trade" bill pointed out that under the present economic form, we decided to draft the draft in order to stabilize the national economy.

"The quantity of imported products in Tajikistan has always outstripped the quantity of export products, and many of these imported products can not fully meet the required quality standards, and at the same time cause tremendous competition pressure on domestic products. Therefore, we should consider adopting relevant legal measures to protect our domestic producers and minimize the negative impact of the economic crisis."

It is reported that after the adoption of the bill, the government will be able to fight against a series of anti dumping measures prescribed by the law against those imported goods of low quality and low price, and reduce the import volume of such products, such as carpets, textiles and alcoholic beverages, through the imposition of compensation tax or special tax.

This move may lead to a rise in the price of domestic goods.

"The products we can produce are limited in quantity or variety, which means that the introduction of laws on the one hand deprives consumers of a certain degree of shopping options. For example, the carpet prices in Iran and Turkey are relatively cheap, the people in Tajikistan can basically afford to consume, and Tajikistan's domestic carpet is much more expensive.

What can domestic enterprises take to satisfy the demand of consumers for various products? "

Carpet companies in Tajikistan, such as Tajikazot, Zarya Vostoka and other carpet manufacturers, have submitted applications to the government and Congress to limit imports of carpet and textile products.

At the meeting, Senator Kabiri also proposed lowering taxes on domestic enterprises and increasing domestic enterprises' corruption.

After a long and multi-faceted in-depth discussion, the draft was finally approved by a majority of votes.
