The school of art and design, Guangdong University of Technology, was founded in March 2004. It has a history of more than 10 years.

Now there are 6 departments: industrial design department, art department, fashion design and Engineering Department, environmental art design department, visual communication design department and animation design department.

In April 2006, he was awarded the qualification of master of art and design by the state. In 2008, he plans to recruit doctoral candidates in the field of industrial design research at Ph. D. of our school of electrical and mechanical engineering.

The Institute has 85 full-time teachers, including 1 doctoral tutors, 8 professors, 10 associate professors, 63.5% master's degree teachers, 2428 full-time undergraduate students and 14 graduate students.

The college has more than 8000 square meters of teaching, scientific research and office space, of which the exhibition hall is 770 square meters.

At present, the total value of the equipment is nearly 8 million yuan.

The Institute closely adhered to the orientation of personnel training in schools, persisted in the integration of art and engineering, integrated design and art, combined theory with practice, and worked hard to cultivate all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique and beauty.

The college attaches great importance to creating a strong atmosphere of Arts and humanities, attaches importance to establishing a good "industry university research" cooperation with the society, and has set up 17 teaching practice bases inside and outside the province.

In the past three years, it has chaired or participated in 2 national scientific research projects, hosted 9 scientific research projects at the bureau level, published 10 publications, plations, works or textbooks, published 132 articles and articles in professional periodicals, 23 selected national art exhibitions and large domestic exhibitions, and 13 awards for publications and articles, with 30 items of pverse scientific research.

Students won 10 first prize and 134 other awards in the national and international professional competitions.

The graduates are generally welcomed and praised by the social employers, and the employment rate is over 95%.
