Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology is the only full-time college in the country that has the characteristics of clothing, arts and crafts, art, industry, economy, management, science and other disciplines.

Founded in 1959, the school was originally affiliated to the Ministry of textile industry and pferred to Beijing as the main management in 1998.

School running idea

In recent years, the school has adhered to the school running concept of "seeking innovation and learning for practical use", adhered to the characteristics of running schools, and established a clothing teaching system combining "art education with engineering education, management education, combining national costume culture with modern design concepts, combining theory teaching with practice teaching".

At present, there are more than 7000 students in the South Gate of Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology, and more than 700 faculty members. There are more than 700 teaching staff, including 5 two level colleges (School of clothing art and engineering, Institute of art and design, School of materials science and engineering, business school, industrial design and Information Engineering Institute), 2 departments (Foreign Languages Department, art department), 2 teaching departments (Social Science Department, basic course Department), 1 teaching centers (Computer Information Center), and international college, continuing education college, higher vocational and technical education department and graduate student department.

There are 18 undergraduate majors, 1 master level disciplines, 11 two level master's degree programs, 1 second bachelor's degree programs, and 4 double degree programs.

There are 3 key construction disciplines in Beijing (clothing design and engineering, design art, Materials Science) and 3 municipal scientific research institutions (Beijing Key Laboratory of clothing materials research and development and evaluation, the capital clothing culture and clothing industry research base, and clothing Beijing technology pfer center).

The national costume museum is one of the top ten museums in China.

School running pattern

Schools adhere to the undergraduate education, and actively develop postgraduate, overseas students and continuing education, forming a multi-level undergraduate education structure.

In accordance with the policy of "Yang Yang, supporting the heavy, changing the old and supporting the new", the school has formed a number of influential disciplines and specialties with great influence. The 3 majors of garment design and engineering, polymer materials and engineering, and art design have been identified as the brand building specialty of Beijing.

6 specialties, such as English, advertising, electronic information engineering, photography, painting and animation, have been set up to meet the needs of the capital's economic and social development.

The curriculum reform has achieved marked results. Over the past 3 years, teachers have published 120 teaching materials and all kinds of reference books, and 14 teaching materials such as the garment industry board have been listed in the national planning textbook of general higher education in 11th Five-Year.

A batch of special teaching materials such as synthetic fiber production technology and clothing pattern design principle and technology have been printed many times and widely selected by other similar schools in China.

Since "fifteen", it has undertaken 806 national, provincial and ministerial level and various scientific research projects, and has received 10 awards from the state, provincial and ministerial level.

For three consecutive years (2004~2006), the project has won the two prize of national science and technology progress. Among them, the project of "development and industrialization of PA6/PE blended Sea Island microfiber and suede skin", which was hosted by our school, has reached the world's advanced level.
